Did you know? Living Future Accreditation (LFA) requires 36 LFA CE credits, and attending our annual conference Living Future 2020 (now online) will help get you there! What’s more, nearly all of this education can also contribute to your AIA LU|HSW credits, with a few sessions offering triple the value to satisfy Passive House Institute US continuing education requirements as well.
LFA is a professional credential designed to acknowledge the most advanced and progressive leaders who are working toward a living future. Read all about the process and benefits of LFA here, and download the LFA ‘quick reference’ postcard for a concise summary.
Living Future 2020 (LF20) online education sessions and workshops provide the opportunity to earn all of the 16 General credits required for LFA, as well as 4 Foundational credits (and a discount on the LFA Foundational Curriculum!).
On May 7, Day 1 of the LF20 event, our seven live online workshops are all approved for Foundational LFA CE credits. On May 8, Day 2 of the event, each of the 16 available live online sessions is approved for General LFA CE credit. Choosing your path, you’ll have access to 4 hours of live content per day (for a total of 4 Foundational credits + 4 General credits).
After this main event, all seven workshops and sixteen sessions that were hosted live on May 7 + 8 will become available for replay, so you can watch recordings of any live educational content that you missed and also self-report those sessions for Foundational and General LFA CE credits. Furthermore, you could join us for the live LF20 Online Summit & Session Series, rolling out weekly for 6 weeks from May 19-June 25, for another chance to earn even more LFA, AIA, and CPHC credits! Every summit throughout the 6-week series is approved for 4 General LFA CE credits, and every session is approved for 1 General LFA CE credit—all of which can be self-reported from live attendance or replays.
New this year, select LF20 sessions on May 7 + 8 and throughout the Series are pre-approved for Passive House Institute US (PHIUS) CPHC CEUs! We are excited to announce this expansion of our partnership, which already includes certification crosswalks charting the path for projects seeking a dual rating (ILFI Zero Energy & PHIUS or ILFI Zero Energy & PHIUS+). PHIUS CPHC CEUs may be self-reported from live or replayed content.
And as always, most LF20 live online educational opportunities (and LFA Foundational Curriculum on-demand courses) will earn you AIA LU|HSW continuing education units. Credit details for individual sessions and workshops/summits may be found in each session/course description. ILFI reports AIA credits fro learners who include their AIA member number during LF20 registration or in their Living Future Education account profile.
Eager to start your LFA before LF20? Enroll in the LFA Foundational Curriculum* whenever you want, from wherever you are. Our online, on-demand LFA Foundational courses offer deep dives into the Living Future Challenges (Products, Buildings, and Communities) and introductions to all of our transparency labels and initiatives.
*Note: if you were registered to attend LF20 Online May 7 workshops, or have previously completed any courses contained in the Curriculum (either online or in-person), please reach out to LFA@living-future.org for a partial fee waiver before enrolling.
In addition to earning your LFA credits, you’ll also need to complete the LFA Registration form and become an ILFI Member (if you haven’t joined already!).
Interested in pursuing LFA with your colleagues? Groups of 3+ learners receive a 20% discount on individual LFA registrations as well as resources for completing education together. Groups may also be eligible for membership discounts as part of a corporate membership package, or groups may receive complimentary membership(s) and LFA registration(s) as benefits of sponsorship/Network partnership. Submit a request to register your group and find out more.
We hope you’ll check out even more information on Living Future Education online courses, Living Future Accreditation, and Living Future 2020.
